Finally pulled the trigger on this hoody for my morning hikes and the TEXASHIELD fabric definitely blocks the wind better than my old fleece. The ripstop material feels sturdy without being stiff, so I can layer it easily.

The ripstop fabric feels tough enough to brush against branches without snagging, which is exactly what I wanted. Only wish the cuffs were a bit snugger for keeping wind out on brisk mornings.

The hood is a great fit under a pack, and the softshell material blocks the wind nicely without feeling stiff. It’s ideal for those crisp mountain mornings, though I wish the thumbholes were a bit deeper.
